What is the market?
The marketplace in coapp is a versatile area where community members can search for and offer specific support, jobs or special skills. It can be used to publish job vacancies, search for help, provide services or share items. The marketplace thus creates a dynamic exchange opportunity within the community and promotes collaboration.
How does the market work?
Members can create, edit and delete market articles. You have the option of reacting to posts, expressing interest and leaving comments.
Here is an overview of the most important input fields:
Summary: A concise title for your article. This summary is displayed in the feed and in the market overview and should therefore be meaningful and appealing.
Description: The main text field for a detailed description of the item. This description is displayed on the detail page that opens when someone clicks on the item. It should contain detailed information.
Category: Here you can select a suitable category for your article, such as ‘Job’. This categorisation helps members to find relevant articles more quickly.
Tags: Add keywords to make the article even easier to find. Tags enable better filtering and searchability within the marketplace.
Contact: Here you can enter a link to a contact page or an e-mail address that interested parties can use to reach you.
Image: Optionally, you can upload an image that visually complements the article. We recommend an aspect ratio of 3:2 and an image size of 1800x1200 pixels.
Click on ‘Create’ to publish the market article and make it available to all community members.
Can the marketplace be deactivated?
If your community does not need the marketplace, it can be removed from the page navigation to make the interface clearer. Admins can deactivate the marketplace function for all members. This is how it works:
Go to Manage > Settings > Features.
Scroll to ‘Market’ and select deactivate.
That's it! The marketplace is no longer displayed. With this flexible setting option, you can optimise the marketplace to meet the needs of your community. You can also reactivate it at any time if the needs of your community change!
