Share Images, Audio, Videos, Files and External Content in coapp

Learn which content formats are supported and how to use them in posts, comments, pages, channels and events.

In coapp, you can share different types of content with your community. Depending on the content type, files are uploaded directly, links are automatically embedded, or external content is integrated using a code section.

Share Images

Where can images be used in your community?

You can share images in the following places:

  • Posts in the feed

  • Posts on pages

  • Posts in events

  • Comments

  • Image sections on pages

  • Image sections in channels

  • Image sections in events

What is supported?

You can upload a single image or multiple images at the same time. Common image formats are supported, including:

  • JPG and JPEG

  • PNG

  • GIF

Share images in the post editor

You can publish posts in the feed as well as on pages and in events.

  1. Open the feed, a page or an event.

  2. Create a new post.

  3. Click the Add Image icon in the editor.

  4. Select one or more images from your device.

  5. Add text if needed.

  6. Publish the post.

Images are uploaded directly and displayed within the post or image section. They are visible to all members who have access to the respective feed, page or event.

Share images in a comment

  1. Open the post you want to comment on.

  2. Click in the comment field.

  3. Select the option to add an image.

  4. Choose the desired image from your device.

  5. Add comment text if needed.

  6. Publish the comment.

Create an image section

Image sections are ideal for permanently highlighting photos, graphics or banners.

  1. Open the desired page, channel or event.

  2. Click + Add Section.

  3. Select Image Section.

  4. Upload the desired image.

  5. Save the section.

Use the small + icon within an existing section to add another section directly above or below it.

Share Audio

Where can audio content be used in your community?

You can embed audio content in the following places:

  • Posts in the feed

  • Posts on pages

  • Posts in events

  • Comments

  • Podcast/Audio sections on pages

  • Podcast/Audio sections in channels

  • Podcast/Audio sections in events

Audio files are not uploaded directly. Instead, you insert a link from a supported platform. coapp automatically recognizes the link and embeds the audio player.

What is supported?

Supported links are automatically recognized, including:

  • Spotify

  • Apple Podcasts

  • SoundCloud

  • Podigee

  • Mixcloud

Share audio in the post editor

  1. Open the feed, a page or an event.

  2. Create a new post.

  3. Copy the URL of the desired audio content from a supported platform.

  4. Paste the URL into the editor.

  5. Add accompanying text if needed.

  6. Publish the post.

The link is automatically recognized and displayed as an embedded audio player.

Share audio in a comment

  1. Open the desired post.

  2. Click in the comment field.

  3. Paste the URL of the audio content.

  4. Add comment text if needed.

  5. Publish the comment.

Create a podcast/audio section

  1. Open the desired page, channel or event.

  2. Click + Add Section.

  3. Select Podcast/Audio Section.

  4. Paste the URL of the desired audio content.

  5. Save the section.

The audio content is then displayed directly within the section.

Share Videos

Where can videos be used in your community?

You can embed videos in the following places:

  • Posts in the feed

  • Posts on pages

  • Posts in events

  • Comments

  • Video sections on pages

  • Video sections in channels

  • Video sections in events

Videos are not uploaded directly. Instead, you insert a link from a supported platform. coapp automatically recognizes the link and embeds the video.

What is supported?

  • YouTube

  • Vimeo

  • Loom

  • TikTok

Share a video in the post editor

  1. Open the feed, a page or an event.

  2. Create a new post.

  3. Copy the URL of the desired video from a supported platform.

  4. Paste the URL into the editor.

  5. Add accompanying text if needed.

  6. Publish the post.

The video is automatically embedded and can be watched directly in coapp.

Share a video in a comment

  1. Open the desired post.

  2. Click in the comment field.

  3. Paste the video URL.

  4. Add comment text if needed.

  5. Publish the comment.

Create a video section

  1. Open the desired page, channel or event.

  2. Click + Add Section.

  3. Select Video Section.

  4. Paste the URL of a video from YouTube, Vimeo, Loom or TikTok.

  5. Save the section.

The video is embedded directly within the section. Use the small + icon within an existing section to add another section directly above or below it.

Share Files and Documents

Where can files and documents be used?

You can provide files and documents in the following places:

  • Posts in the feed

  • Posts on pages

  • Posts in events

  • The right sidebar of pages

  • The right sidebar of events

Share a file in the post editor

  1. Open the feed, a page or an event.

  2. Create a new post.

  3. Click the option to add a file in the editor.

  4. Select the desired file from your device.

  5. Add a description if needed.

  6. Publish the post.

Files are uploaded as attachments and can be downloaded by members with the appropriate permissions. Members with access to the respective area can open or download the file.

Provide files on a page or in an event

You can store important documents in the right sidebar of a page or event. This keeps them permanently accessible and prevents them from getting lost between posts.

  1. Open the desired page or event.

  2. Select the option to add a file in the right sidebar.

  3. Upload the desired file.

  4. Save your changes.

Share Code and Embeds

Where can code and embeds be used in your community?

Code and embed sections can be used on:

  • Pages

  • Channels

  • Events

What is supported?

Code sections allow you to integrate HTML embeds from external services. This enables you to display content beyond the video and audio platforms that are supported by default.

Depending on the service, you can embed content such as:

  • Forms

  • Maps

  • Calendars

  • Presentations

  • Dashboards

  • Widgets

  • Other content provided as an HTML embed

Create a code or embed section

  1. Open the desired page, channel or event.

  2. Click + Add Section.

  3. Select Code Section.

  4. Paste the embed code or HTML code provided by the external service.

  5. Save the section.

The embedded content will then be displayed directly within the section.
