This guide explains how a community administrator connects Nuki smart locks to coapp and uses them for bookable resources.
What You Can Do
With the Nuki integration, you can:
connect your Nuki Web account to coapp
import smart locks from Nuki
attach an imported lock to a booking resource
include a generated lock PIN in booking confirmation emails
When a member books a resource with a linked lock, coapp can create a time-limited PIN for that booking. The PIN is valid around the booking time window configured on the resource.
Before You Start
Make sure that:
you are signed in as a community administrator
your Nuki Web account is active
your Nuki Smart Lock 3.0 devices are available in your Nuki Web account
popups are allowed for coapp, because the Nuki connection opens in a new browser window
Connect Your Nuki Account to coapp
Go to Manage.
Open Settings.
Open Integrations.
Select NUKI.
Click Connect.
Complete the Nuki authorization in the new browser window.
After the connection is complete, the Nuki integration page shows Connected.
If the browser blocks the Nuki login window, allow popups for coapp and click Connect again.
Import Your Locks
After connecting Nuki, import the locks into coapp:
Go to Manage.
Open Access.
Open Locks.
Click Import.
The table shows the imported locks with their name and provider. Nuki locks appear with provider Nuki.
Use the search field on the Locks page to find a lock by name or provider.
Link A Lock To A Booking Resource
Use this when a bookable room, desk, locker, or other resource should receive a booking-specific PIN.
Go to Manage.
Open Bookings.
Open the resource you want to configure.
In the resource editor, find Access management.
Choose the lock in Select lock.
Set Valid minutes before booking start.
Set Valid minutes after booking end.
Save the resource.
The validity settings control when the PIN can be used. For example, if a booking runs from 10:00 to 11:00, with 10 minutes before and 15 minutes after, the PIN is valid from 09:50 to 11:15.
Add The PIN To Booking Emails
To send the generated PIN to the member, add the PIN placeholder to the booking confirmation email content for the resource.
Open the booking resource editor.
Find Booking confirmation email content.
Add this placeholder where the PIN should appear:
{{pin}}Example:
Your access PIN is {{pin}}. It is valid for your booking time window.Save the resource after editing the email content.
What Members See
When a member books a resource that has a linked Nuki lock:
coapp creates a PIN for that booking
the PIN can be inserted into the booking confirmation email with
{{pin}}the PIN is only valid during the configured booking access window
Members should use the PIN directly on the Nuki lock keypad or the configured Nuki access device.
Troubleshooting
The Nuki page does not show Connected
Try connecting again from Settings > Integrations > NUKI. If it still fails, contact support and ask them to check the Nuki account connection for your community.
The Nuki login window does not open
Your browser may have blocked the popup. Allow popups for coapp, then click Connect again.
No locks appear after import
Check that the locks are visible in your Nuki Web account, then return to Access > Locks and click Import again. If the list is still empty, contact support.
The lock selector is missing on a booking resource
The lock feature may not be enabled for your community. Contact coapp support and ask them to enable locks for booking resources.
The booking email does not include a PIN
Check that:
the resource has a lock selected
the booking confirmation email contains
{{pin}}the booking was created after the lock was linked to the resource
A member cannot open the lock
Check the booking time and the resource access window. The PIN only works between the configured start and end validity times.
If the booking time is correct and the PIN still does not work, contact support so they can verify the Nuki connection and generated PIN.
