How do I see who's online?

Learn how to identify members who are currently online, what the green dot means, and how it helps you connect with your community in real time.

The online status lets you see at a glance which members of your community are currently active. A green dot on a member's profile picture indicates that they are online right now.

Why is the online status useful?

Knowing who is currently online makes it easier to connect with other members. You can instantly see who is available to:

  • Send a direct message

  • Mention in a post

  • Add to a page or group

  • Ask a quick question or request feedback

Whether you're starting a new conversation or looking for a fast response, the online status helps make communication within your community more immediate and engaging.

How does it work?

When a member is actively using coapp, a green dot appears on their profile picture. Once they are no longer active, the indicator disappears automatically after a short period.

The online status only shows whether a member is currently online. It does not display how long they have been online or when they were last active.

Privacy

The online status only indicates whether a member is currently using the community. This is considered a non-sensitive piece of information and is a common feature across many messaging and community platforms.

coapp does not display any sensitive activity data. In particular, it does not show a member's activity history, "last seen" timestamps, or maintain visible presence logs. The green dot exists solely to make communication and collaboration within your community easier.

Tip

Use the online status whenever you want to start a conversation or get a quick response. If you see a green dot, there's a good chance the member is available to reply right away.
