How the Matchmaking Feature Works

With coapp's Matchmaking feature, each member gets a real-time Matching Score (0–100%), showing how well two profiles fit together.

The Matchmaking feature in coapp helps you discover more relevant connections within your community. Based on profile data, the system calculates a Matching Score (0–100%) indicating how well two members fit together.

The feature is enabled by default – no manual setup required.


How is the Matching Score calculated?

The score is calculated in real time using the following data points:

Short description of a member

About me text

Personal information or expertise

Company

Associated organization or employer

Tags

Interests, topics, or expertise areas

Profile creation date

When the profile was created

Last profile update

Last modification of the profile

Custom fields

Admins can define whether each custom field should be included in the Matching Score calculation. See Custom Fields

Where is the Matching Score displayed?

  • In the member profile: The score is displayed next to the user's name.

  • In member lists: The community list is automatically sorted by highest score.

  • In event participant lists: Members with a score above 50% are marked with a ⭐ symbol.


What does the score mean?

  • 0–49%: Low match – few shared interests or data points.

  • 50–79%: Good match – relevant similarities found.

  • 80–100%: High match – very similar profiles or interests.
