Troubleshooting: No Notifications Received
If members or admins are not receiving notifications, possible reasons include:
Possible cause | Explanation & fix |
Notification type disabled | The user has turned off email, push, or in-app notifications under Profile → Account → Notifications. Check and enable. |
App permissions disabled (push) | Push notifications must be allowed in device settings (iOS/Android). |
Emails blocked or in spam | coapp emails may have been filtered. → Add @coapp.io to the safe senders list. |
User not affected by the event | Some notifications (e.g. “comment on my post”) only go to directly affected users. |
Announcement already sent | Posts can only be announced once. |
Email address unverified | Users who haven’t confirmed their email address won’t receive email notifications. |
Expired push token | If a user hasn’t opened the app in a long time, their push token expires. → Have them open the app once. |
Technical delay / queue | During high activity, emails or pushes may be delayed slightly. → Wait or contact support if persistent. |
